Many of us who practice yoga are more than familiar with downward dog, or down dog for short. For many of us, it lies right smack in middle of your flow each time you go through it. Apart from being an excellent stretching pose, downward dog also provides the yogi with a sense of rest in the midst of a sweaty yoga session. “One-Legged Downward Dog” (Eka Pada Adho Mukha Svanasana) is recommended for more experienced yogis, although if you can get there as a beginner, great! Here are some of the wonderful benefits of the “One-Legged Downward Dog” (Eka Pada Adho Mukha Svanasana):

  1. Improves balance
  2. Quiets the mind
  3. Strengthens and stretches the arms
  4. Stretches the hamstrings and helps to open up the hip flexors

Give it a try and enjoy the benefits!
